Every year in Victoria the RSPCA saves thousands of animals that have been cruelly treated through ignorance, or deliberately neglected. The Society fights cruelty to ALL animals and prosecutes the perpetrators under the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals Act. Your support will help the Society to continue to lobby the State Government to change the laws and give greater protection to animals and to also increase the powers of its thirteen Inspectors.

More than 38,000 animals require the care and assistance of the RSPCA annually throughout the State.

Our inspectors investigate in excess of 9,000 each year, and rescue some 1300 animals from dangerous situations. They make regular inspections of all places where animals are kept, including aquariums, piggeries, riding schools, saleyards, poultry farms and pet shops.

The RSPCA is concerned about the humane management of ALL animals.

- Anti Bobby Calf Trade - Help the RSPCA raise the standards of farming and transport for calves.

- Live Animal Export Trade Campaign - Help the RSPCA regulate the Livestock Export Trade.
- Animal use in Circuses Campaign - Help the RSPCA end the use of Wild Animals in Circuses.
- Intensive Farming Campaign - Help the RSPCA get Hens out of Cages.
- Cat Desexing Campaign - Our Biggest Problem is Multiplying.
- Duck Hunting Campaign - Help the RSPCA kill the sport.
- Fireworks Campaign - It's no party for pets.
- Taildocking Campaign - Stop dogs becoming fashion victims - ban tail docking.

The total expenditure of the Society is about 21 million a year and as a not for profit, non-government organisation it receives a funding grant of only $300,000 from the State Government to keep its services running effectively. The RSPCA relies on donations and bequests from the public, corporate sponsorship and the work of its many volunteers.
