�We are a diverse volunteer-led community organisation with a focus on young people, leadership and active participation. We partner with others to develop and deliver challenging, experienced based programmes which engage with people of all ages.�

Lord Somers Camp and Power House Programs and Activities
Uniquely all our programs and activities are organised and run by dedicated volunteers who freely give of their time to impact the lives of participants. Participation in LSC&PH has traditionally come through our Lord Somers Camp and Lady Somers Camps however the introduction of our community programs has encouraged participation from a wide range of community members. Annual Lord Somers Camp & Lady Somers Camp
Lord Somers Camp (for boys) and Lady Somers Camp (for girls) are conducted annually in January at our campsite in Somers, Victoria. These camps are commonly referred to as Big Camps. Each camp runs for one week catering for youth aged 16 to 18 years. Big camps focus on bringing together youth from diverse backgrounds and challenging them to overcome barriers generated by society and stereotypes. Through big camp participants develop acceptance, tolerance, team work, self confidence, friendship, leadership and life skills. Lord and Lady Somers Camp help to develop life long bonds and friendships.

Community Programs & Activities
In partnership with community organisations LSC&PH conduct a range of programs throughout the year that cater to various sectors of the community. These programs focus on community outreach and provide leadership and personal development opportunities for LSC&PH volunteers. The following programs are conducted over two separate weekends each year and all are organised and staffed by LSC&PH volunteers.

-Very Special Kids Camp at Somers
Lord Somers Camp and Power House have partnered with the Very Special Kids organisation to provide a camp for children with a progressive life threatening illness and their families. Children are treated to a weekend of �good fun, good food and good fellowship� while families are pampered and given time to just relax.

-Camp Diversity
Camp Diversity is a community service program for young people living with physical and intellectual challenges. The camp provides an opportunity for interaction between participants with a variety of health issues while providing much needed respite for carers.

-SailAway (SAIL & City of Casey)
SailAway is a camp for young people from a refugee background that aims to create a sense of belonging and identity by supporting the development of strong social skills and access to meaningful community participation. Participants for SailAway are nominated by the Sudanese Australian Integrated Learning (SAIL) and the City of Casey and each camp is run by LSC&PH volunteers with the assistance of SAIL and City of Casey employees.

-Mirabel Family Camp
Mirabel Family Camp is a weekend camp for families supported by Mirabel � a Victorian organisation that seeks to assist children who have been orphaned or abandoned due to their parents illicit drug use and are now in the care of other family members (primarily grandparents). The camp aims to give carers an opportunity for respite and networking while their children are being cared for and entertained.

-emPOWERme � Youth Development Program
The emPOWERme program brings together year 10 students from across Victoria to engage in a day of personal exploration. Run by young people for young people emPOWERme assist students to define their ambitions and put in place steps to achieve their personal and community goals.

Members Activities
LSC&PH conduct a range of programs designed to challenge and develop the leadership and life skills of our members and build our community. These activities are developed and run by LSC&PH members and greatly benefit participants and the organisation.

-MAX � Youth Leadership Development Program
MAX is a camp run by young people for young people aimed at building self awareness, self respect, leadership and purpose. Participants are challenged to understand and believe in their own potential and that of others. The camp also provides opportunities to reflect and learn tools to finding direction in participant�s personal, working and community life.

-Power2Lead � Professional and Personal Development Program
Power2Lead is a professional and personal development program available to LSC&PH members. The program aims at developing skills, confidence and leadership capacities of men and women aged 35-55 through a series of innovative and practical activities.

-We also run a range of activities catering to members focussed on building and strengthening our community. These activities range from social events to theatrical performances and bring together members from all over Victoria, Australia and the world.
