Motor Neurone Disease Association of Queensland Inc

Donations to this organisation are tax deductible  This organisation accepts volunteer labour

Motor Neurone Disease (MND) is the name given to a group of diseases in which the nerve cells (neurones) controlling muscles fail to work normally.

Without nerves to activate them, muscles gradually weaken and waste, resulting in a deterioration of the ability to move around, speak, breathe and swallow.

The effect of MND varies enormously from one person to the next in respect to initial symptoms, rate and pattern of progression and survival time after diagnosis.

The MNDAQ is a registered charity and support organisation which, through specialised services, has worked with people with MND and their families and carers throughout Queensland since 1983.
