Aid to the Church in Need

Aid to the Church in Need (ACN) is an international Catholic charity under papal jurisdiction, which yearly offers financial support to more than 10,000 projects worldwide. ACN supports the poor and persecuted churches with prayer, pastoral relief and material assistance. Help is given to refugees of all denominations.
In order to fulfil this mission, the organisation has established certain priorities for its work. They are:
� Training of seminarians (ACN currently supports the training of 19,000 seminarians worldwide)
� Training of catechists
� Charitable help for refugees
� Translation, printing and dispatch of Bibles, catechisms, prayer books and other religious literature.
� Publication of the Child's Bible. To date 36 million copies have been distributed in over 120 languages.
� The building and renovation of churches, convents, seminaries and catechesis centres
� Production and broadcasting of religious radio programmes to the former Soviet Union, China, Vietnam, and many Third World countries
� Purchase of vehicles to enable priests and pastoral workers to care for their widely scattered parishes
� Basic support for priests and religious
